Mary sits in a floral meadow, cradling her young son Jesus who holds aloft a rosary and scapular. Alejandro Chavez creates a reverent representation of Our Lady of Fatima. An apparition of the Virgin Mary. She appeared six times to three shepherd children near the Portuguese town of Fatima in 1917. She urged the faithful to pray the rosary and wear the scapular of the Virgin of Mount Carmel. Her feast day is May 13. Known as a retablo, this traditional diorama features figures housed in a colorful wooden chest.
