Shamanic Funerary Rites
An important aspect of shamanism is the work of psychopomp, which is the conducting of souls from one world into another. This is done at times of birth and death.
In a shamanic view point death is simply the passage of the soul from one world into another. The soul lives on and experiences a new type of existence. Few people are trained or taught how to die, or how to let go. This is why we practice psychopomp work, so that the soul can receive help and comfort on its journey.
It is a wonderful experience when a family and loved ones can gather in support of the passage of the soul, to truly offer support and love to guide their loved one on into their new existence.
Shamanic funerary rites are a collaborative effort between myself and the loved ones to create a ceremony that offers psychopomp work to the deceased and closure for those that may be grieving.
I am also very open to sitting with you if you would like to plan your own ceremony in preparation for death.
